Every year, there are many beloved events that bring the greater Severna Park community together, from the Independence Day parade to the Earth Day Festival to the tree lighting ceremony and more. Mark your calendars now for this year’s upcoming festivities.

SPRING

Rock ‘N’ Roll Revival

Watch the talents of Severna Park High School students come alive on stage during the 37th annual rendition of Rock ‘N’ Roll Revival. Themed “Storm the Stage,” the production will showcase musicians, vocalists, dancers and more. Show dates are March 13-15, 19 and 21.

Earth Day Festival

For over two decades, Severna Park-based Good Neighbors Group has hosted an Earth Day Festival that brings together organizations, vendors, and school groups to create an event that educates and challenges attendees about taking care of our community and world. This year, the festival will be held on April 25 at Severna Park United Methodist Church.

Shop Local Fun Festival

To showcase how essential local businesses and nonprofits are to the fabric of the community, the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce (GSPACC) will hold its annual spring Shop Local Fun Festival on May 2. Plan for a day of entertainment, shopping and fun at the Park Plaza shopping center.

SUMMER

Cape St. Claire Strawberry Festival

It’s a sweet way to kick off summer on the Broadneck peninsula, and it takes place on the first Saturday of June: Save the date for the Cape St. Claire Strawberry Festival. Enjoy a parade that winds from the fire station to the community beach followed by a full day of live entertainment, vendors, kids’ activities, and of course, fresh strawberry treats!

Katherine Mueller Memorial All-Day Music Festival

Enjoy great food and music all day long for a good cause at this annual fundraiser slated for June 13 at Severna Park Taphouse. Katherine’s Light Foundation exists to raise funds for the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation and local nonprofits that aid with education, awareness, treatment and support for people facing a cancer diagnosis.

Independence Day Parade

As our nation turns 250 this year, Severna Park will continue a five-decade-old tradition of holding a hometown Independence Day parade organized by the GSPACC on July 4. Stake out a seat early and enjoy hundreds of creatively decorated floats, vehicles, bikes and more. Kids, be sure to sign up for the decorated bike contest that takes place before the parade begins!

Earleigh Heights Carnival

Another decades-old tradition that kids and kids at heart can look forward to is the summer carnival at Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company. The event typically runs mid-July and offers something for everyone: whirling rides, exciting games, tasty treats, and good, old-fashioned fun.

National Night Out

This free event, held nationwide on the first Tuesday of August, promotes strong relationships between community members and law enforcement. In 2025, Anne Arundel County Police Eastern District hosted National Night Out at Kinder Farm Park, educating attendees with K9 demonstrations, kids’ activities, police and fire apparatus, games and more.

FALL

Art In The Park

For the sixth year, the Severna Park Voice and Cafe Mezzanotte will team up to host an annual music and arts festival in the fall. Slated for September 27 this year, the event not only offers great food, entertainment from local musicians, and live demonstrations from area artists, but it also serves as a fundraiser for a local nonprofit.

Lifeline 100

Cyclists of all ages and abilities can mark October 4 on their calendars for the 12th annual Anne Arundel County Lifeline 100, which offers scenic 65- and 100-mile county tours as well as 15- and 30-mile trail rides and a family fun ride for children. The event showcases bicycle safety and serves as a fundraiser for local nonprofits.

Have a spooktacular time shopping local at this GSPACC-hosted, trick-or-treat-themed event scheduled for October 24. The free festival takes place at the Park Plaza shopping center and not only highlights the importance of shopping local but also gives attendees a scary good time collecting candy, participating in costume contests, and enjoying live performances.

Deep Creek Lighted Boat Parade

The fourth annual festivities that signal Christmas is near will likely take place again in mid to late November. The parade of decorated boats sets Arnold and Cape St. Claire aglow up and down Deep Creek, with holiday cheer warming hearts, cocoa warming bodies, and proceeds benefitting charity. WINTER

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Illuminating the two trees, big and small, in the heart of Severna Park ushers in the holiday season each year. Hosted by the GSPACC, the tree lighting ceremony typically includes visits from Santa and the Grinch, performances by local music and dance groups, and sweet treats to be enjoyed by all. This year’s event will take place on December 4.

Jingle Bell Hayride

Join the Friends of Kinder Farm Park for the annual Jingle Bell Hayride, slated for December 5. With this farm-favorite tradition, attendees can anticipate seasonal treats and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Kinder farmhouse is typically open and decorated for the holidays as well.

Sample the best food and beverages from around town at the GSPACC’s annual Taste & Sip extravaganza. The event typically offers entertainment in the form of live performances, raffles and auctions. Save room and save the date for December 8.
