November was a busy and celebratory month, with many ribbon cuttings and events. One highlight was the General Membership and Winkelmeyer Awards Luncheon hosted by the Severna Park Elks Club. The chamber was founded in 1957 by Walter Winkelmeyer, and it was a joy to have his daughter Betty Winkelmeyer-Wells sponsor and co-chair the event, where we recognized 12 chamber business owners for their success and philanthropy.
Our Successful Women in Business “Giving Thanks” Luncheon was held at the Alcove Event Studio in Severna Park, a wonderful venue with decorative chairs, beautiful linens and a great sound system. The studio is right by Severna Park Lanes. Catered by Be My Guest Catering, the luncheon treated more than 50 ladies to a delicious lunch topped off by free Thanksgiving pies gifted to us by The Sheridan at Severna Park.
This was the month for milestone ribbon cuttings, beginning with the 30-year anniversary of Orthodontic Associates in Severna Park. Founded by Dr. Jeffrey Miller, Orthodontic Associates has 13 locations in Maryland and is the largest practice in the state.
Congratulations to the Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi on the celebration of its 25th anniversary. Owners Billy and Nancy Greer are not only successful in business but are well-known in the community for their tremendous philanthropy. They support nonprofits such as the Alzheimer’s Association and are regular donors to charities at the chamber’s shop local events.
We celebrated the grand opening of Prime IV in Severna Park in the Park Plaza shopping center. Owners Pegah and Chris Scotti also operate Kitchen Tune-Up. Medical professionals oversee their business, and they offer a vast array of IV treatments that can be customized to your specific needs.
Our monthly Chamber Mingle was held at Vida Taco in Severna Park, serving delicious margaritas and appetizers.
