Caring For Women Of All Ages: Annapolis OB/GYN

The idea of a women’s health care facility is not uncommon in today’s world, but in 1971, when a team of dedicated OB/GYN providers came together to form a group, it was a relatively new concept. The group formed because they believed that women of all ages deserve the highest quality medical care. With multiple locations in Anne Arundel and Queen Anne Counties, they are easily accessible as well.

At the facilities, patients will find a broad spectrum of services, including in-office procedures, DaVinci minimally invasive surgery, ultrasounds, bone density and cosmetic laser treatments. Obstetric care is the core of the practice, though they offer gynecologic care to Medicare patients as well, continuing their commitment to provide care for women of all ages.

“We have a special connection to Severna Park because our first satellite office was opened here in the early 1970s. Although we are no longer in that location, we remain loyal to the many women we served at that time. We are now delivering the grandbabies of those Severna Park residents we started serving decades ago,” shared James L. River, Jr., M.D.

The ties to the community run deep at the center. They support many local fundraisers by contributing service donations and volunteering at the AAMC Outreach Clinic (Stanton Center) several days a month. The center has a particular interest in organizations focused on women’s and children’s health issues and recently participated in two breast cancer awareness events, Style on the Runway and the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.

Dr. Parabh Gill has deep ties to the community in that she is a graduate of Severna Park High School and her father is a professor at AACC. Dr. Gill shares, “I feel very lucky delivering personalized gynecologic care to my former teachers, parents’ colleagues, friends and now the parents of my children’s friends.”

Dr. Pablo Argeles and his family chose to settle in Severna Park when he joined Annapolis OB/GYN in 2005. “We selected this part of Anne Arundel County because we heard it was a great place to live and raise children. We have not been disappointed.”

“I’ve been working with Annapolis OB/GYN for 25 years and I’ve been a patient here for 30 years. The commitment, caring and professional skill of our providers is beyond reproach. It’s a privilege to come to work each day,” explained Susan Latonick, Administrator and Severna Park resident.

The commitment and longevity of the administrative and clinical support team enables Annapolis OB/GYN to continue providing excellent care. “We’ve been around for a long time and with that, now have the privilege and responsibility of taking care of the next generation of women,” concluded Latonick.
