We held three ribbon-cutting celebrations this month. The first was the grand opening of Coastal Kitchen + Bath in Severna Park. They provide expert remodeling services, and they offer handmade rivertops and exotic wood tops for a custom and unique look.
Next, we held a ribbon-cutting for the launch of the Severna Park Community Center’s new website and remodeled facilities. It was a packed house, and tours were given following a presentation. The community center is indeed a place to “gather, play, grow and thrive.”
The last celebration of the month was the grand opening of Be The Change, the Healing Collective. Owner Cheryl Pace, who also owns the popular Change Your Pace Therapeutic Massage, has created a beautiful environment for wellness practitioners to offer classes, events and more.
Our Wellness Business Connections group held its monthly meeting at the Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi. We were treated to a mini demo of tai chi, a wonderful movement-based activity to relieve stress. Many thanks to Nancy and Billy Greer for their hospitality.
Our Successful Women in Business “First Cup Club” enjoyed a delicious breakfast and great networking at Eco Adventures in Millersville. We were surrounded by a rainforest and animals. Owners Mei Len and Dr. Brady Barr are marine biologists, and Dr. Barr had a TV program with National Geographic for 20 years. Eco Adventures offers camps, educational series and classes, and hosts field trips. Adults can rent space as well. Eco Adventures even hosted a wedding at its amazing facility.
Mark your calendars for our Spring Shop Local Fun Festival on May 4 from 11:00am–3:00pm at Park Plaza! We are so excited to have over 60 exhibitors, food, music and fun for the whole family. Registration is open for our Independence Day parade, to be held on Thursday, July 4, from 10:00am–noon in Severna Park. We will again offer a $500 prize in three categories – Best Overall, Best Theme and Most Patriotic. We encourage communities to gather their teams and start building their floats!
The grand marshal of the parade is Dr. Dawn Lindsay, president of Anne Arundel Community College. Lindsay has dedicated more than 30 years to the community college system. We are so honored that she accepted our offer to participate in the parade.
