On Read Across America Day, Broadneck Elementary students, staff and parents gathered outside in attempt to break the Guinness World Record for "the largest gathering of people dressed as Dr. Seuss characters."
The record number of people was 890. Today, Broadneck unofficially broke the record at the school's count of 932 people.
To keep count of how many people were gathered, everybody participating had to walk through official turnstyles. There were six turnstyles at the school keeping count of how many people were gathered, and the numbers were totalled at the end.
It may take weeks for Guinness to make the official announcement.
