Student Art Featured For Voice Cover Contest

Posted

To showcase the talent of local artists, the Severna Park Voice encouraged high school students to send their work to be entered into a contest. The winner’s work is displayed on the front of this Community Resource and Business Directory.

Broadneck High School senior Aurora Nelson won the contest with her depiction of a great blue heron gliding over a marsh, with grasses in the background curled into the shape of the letters S and P for Severna Park. Other grasses intertwine to form a heart. Second place goes to Archbishop Spalding junior and Severna Park resident Clare Donovan. She drew a picture of a heron on a beach.

The cover artwork contest is sponsored by Benfield Gallery, which will display the artwork of both students during March. Congratulations to Aurora and Clare.
