Students at Severna Park Elementary School celebrated National Walk and Roll To School Day in early October. Principal Emily Abell shared that 229 students, or 64% of the student body, participated this year. Festivities at the school included bubbles, obstacle courses, prize drawings, and a raffle. Snacks were provided by the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Riding to school was not an unfamiliar activity for the kids, as PTO member and event co-organizer Kristen Berthelotte shared that on an average day, 30% or more of students travel to school by bike or on foot.
