Severn School State Champions

Three Severn School teams finished their seasons with Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) state titles while two others enjoyed regular-season accolades.

Volleyball

With an 11-1 regular season, the Cavaliers volleyball squad carried momentum into the playoffs. They posted straight-set wins over Concordia Prep School and St. Timothy’s in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. During the IAAM C Conference finals at Stevenson University on October 26, they scored a convincing 3-1 win over Park School.

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team entered the postseason with a 6-4-2 record. After beating Concordia Prep School 6-0 in the IAAM semifinals on October 29, Severn School advanced to the championship to play Mount de Sales, which had just defeated Severn School two weeks prior. The Admirals were ready for redemption, winning 3-2 at Calvert Hall College’s Paul Angelo Russo Soccer Stadium on November 2.

Tennis

The tennis team capped an undefeated season by winning the IAAM C Conference state championship.

Regular Season Champs

Though they were dealt a 1-0 defeat in the finals against John Carroll, Severn School’s field hockey team still had plenty to celebrate as regular season champions after going 7-0 in the IAAM C Conference. The school’s girls cross country team also finished as regular season champs and came in second place during the IAAM championship.
