The Round Bay Community Association’s annual golf tournament raised $10,000 for Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company this fall. On the rolling greens of Compass Pointe Golf Courses, 76 community golfers, including several firefighters, competed in the fundraiser. Golfers garnered the support of 21 local businesses to amplify their donation to the fire company.

“We’re delighted to have such great support from the community,” said Dave Crawford, volunteer chief at Earleigh Heights. “Round Bay’s very generous contribution will help us buy a new ambulance. We’re in the process of placing an order. There’s a nationwide shortage, so it’s going to take more than a year to get it.”

This fall’s golf tournament marks the fifth year that Round Bay golfers have donated to the fire company. “We’re proud to be able to give back to the community and our first responders,” said Erin Gruver, community president and member of the golf committee. “Earleigh Heights has come to our aid many times over the years, and our annual golf fundraiser is a great way to show our appreciation. We see it as a win-win. It’s good for the fire company and the community it serves, and we have a lot of fun doing it.”
