Question Of The Month: Shipley’s Choice Elementary School

Posted

Each month, the Severna Park Voice poses a question to a local fifth-grade class. This month, students from Mr. Holt’s class at Shipley’s Choice Elementary school answered the question:

“How do you like to show your family that you love them and why?”

One way I show my family that I love them is by doing stuff that they ask me to do, because when I ask my mom, dad or brother to do something for me, they do it.
Aliya B.

I show my family that I love my family by celebrating special family events, giving them hugs and saying, “I love you.”
Annalynn D.

I show my family I love them by playing games with them. I do this because it is fun to be with them and play games.
Audrey K.

I like to show my family I love them by spending all the time that I can with them. If I could, I would spend every second of the day with them. My dad and I always find a way to keep ourselves occupied, from two-player games to bike rides to the end of the road. My mom and I like to go on walks with my dog. My sister and I are always goofing around, no matter at noon or at midnight! I love my family so much and am thankful I was blessed with having them in my life.
Ava W.

I show my family I love them by helping them. I do this because they do so much for me. I want to help them like they help me.
Caitlyn B.

I show my family I love them by celebrating them on special events, like birthdays and holidays. I also show love every day by giving them a hug because they take care of me.
Cameran U.

I show my family that I love them by giving hugs to my mom and sister because they like it and it makes them feel good. Then my brother, I give compliments, because he doesn’t really like getting anything else, and I show my dad that I love him by talking to him and telling each other about our day.
Dylan D.

I show my family how I love them by playing games with them and attending family events/activities. I also do fun traditions with my family and say “I love you” almost all the time. I like to spend a lot of time with my family whenever I am not busy with friends or sports. I love them because they help me with my field hockey and get me into SCES.
Emerson E.

I show my family I love them by asking them if they want to “hang out” with me. Also, by saying “I love you,” but they already said that I tell them that I “love them” too. Showing this feeling is something I love to do.
Felicity G.

The way I show my family that I love them is by telling them, “I love you guys.” The way I show my dad I love him is by wrestling him. The way I show my mom I love her is by eating her dinner, and it is always good. The one way I love them all is hugging them.
Graham M.

How I show my family that I love them is that I make up fun things like scavenger hunts for my younger family members, and for the adults I give them gifts like photos of me because they don’t get to see me often or drawings like realistic flowers or candy. But for my parents, I give them big hugs and kisses every day.
Harper S.

I show that I love my family by wrestling my dad or doing things for them so they just stay there. Lastly, I don’t complain, which is like one in 100 million, but one time is better than zero. That is how I show I love my parents.
Jack B.

I love my family because they take care of me and help me when I need it. I show them I love them by trying to do the same for them when they need it.
Kennedy S.

How I show my family that I love them is telling them, “I love you.” Just by saying “I love you” or “I love you too,” I’m making sure they know that I love them. I also show them by spending time with them. I would love to spend time with them every day, all day, but sometimes I’m too busy. How I show my dog I love him is by petting him. My dog is so soft I could pet him all day. That's how I show my family that I love them.
Lauren H.

I like to use gifts to show love for my family because it shows how much I care about them.
Luke S.

I like to show my family that I love them by saying I love them, hugging them and kissing them (well, my brother does not let me, but I still try to)! I play games with them, like card games and board games, and by supporting them when they are down and they need some love. There are so many ways you can show love to your family, and this is how I show my family love.
Maanya A.

To be thankful for everything they do for me. To be nice and kind and not be crazy around them.
Mason O.

I show my family that I like them by spending time with them, saying yes to them and by helping them when they need it.
Max G.

When I leave, I always say “I love you” to my whole family, even my dog. I also help them out with hard situations. And I hug them and say, “I love you.”
Michaela W.

I show I love my family by not going into their rooms, because they hate it when I go in their rooms. I want them to trust me, so I don’t go in my sisters’ rooms. Also, I show my parents I love them by helping them around the house when they need it, like walking my dog, laundry and dishes. It’s not fun, but it shows that I love my parents and care for them and that I care for my dog.
Mya T.

I like to give my parents cards on Mother’s and Father’s Day.
Toby M.

I like to show my sister I love her by messing with her. With my parents, I like to watch movies and shows. Sometimes I will cuddle with them or get them gifts like breakfast in bed or something else.
Tripp O.
