The highlight of October was our Shoptoberfest shop local event with a trick-or-treat twist. The event was held at Park Plaza on October 11, and we had over 60 exhibitors. Six gold sponsors presented donations to their charities of choice. This included Landmark Roofing donating to Children’s Theatre of Annapolis, Atlantic Blue Water Services donating to the YWCA, Kitchen Tune-up and Prime IV donating to the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company, SERVPRO of Annapolis and Severna Park donating to the Chrysalis House, and the Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi donating to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Other sponsors were Bayrise Builders, Park Modern Home, Delegate Heather Bagnall, Eco Adventures, Griswold Home Care, Fieldstone Animal Inn, Arundel Federal Savings Bank, Lean on Dee Senior Services and Kwon’s Taekwondo.
Entertainment was provided by the Priddy Music Academy, The Edge Dance Complex, Children’s Theatre of Annapolis and the Jing Ying Institute of Kung Fu & Tai Chi.
Our monthly chamber mingle was held on a beautiful evening at Severna Park Taphouse. Many thanks to owner Jessica Tinordi for making it special with delicious appetizers.
We had three ribbon-cutting celebrations over the last month. First was the 20-plus-one-year anniversary of Higgins and Friends Pet Sitting. Next was the five-year anniversary of Vela Haven Sleep Consulting and Maternal Services. Last was the grand opening of Trillium Wellness’ new location in Annapolis.
Our Successful Women in Business Group was hosted by BD Provisions in Severna Park. The Wellness Business Connections Group’s guest speaker was Carrie Chojnowski, owner of Thrive 4 Life Holistic Health. And our Business Bites Luncheon featured Tom Adams of Zulumel Consulting to present artificial intelligence concepts.
