In December, Katherine’s Light Foundation (KLF) co-founder Larry Sells presented a $5,000 donation to SPAN, or Serving People Across Neighborhoods. The gift rounded out $100,000 in donations disbursed by KLF in 2025 to area nonprofits that help with cancer education, research and awareness, and that assist individuals facing a cancer diagnosis. Last year, the nonprofit raised funds and made donations to the following organizations:

  • $20,000 to Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center to the DeCesaris Cancer Institute Cancer Patient Care & Comfort Fund
  • $10,000 to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation
  • $16,000 to the Wellness House of Annapolis
  • $10,000 to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Foundation for the Cancer Patient Care & Comfort Fund
  • $15,000 to Anne Arundel Community College for the Katherine Mueller Nursing Scholarship
  • $23,000 to the Mercy Hospital NET Cancer Patient Fund
  • $6,000 to SPAN for helping those most in need

Since the inception of Katherine’s Light Foundation and the organization’s first fundraising event in December 2023, KLF has donated over $210,000. The nonprofit is preparing for its annual all-day music festival on June 13, a fundraiser held at Severna Park Taphouse to honor the memory of Robin and Larry Sells’ daughter, Katherine Mueller.
