The Severna Park Green Hornets Junior A girls’ lacrosse team completed a fine season on May 22 at Severna Park High School, facing Davidsonville in the county championship game. An 8-4 win over Broadneck in the semifinals earned the Hornets a spot in the title game against the regular-season-best Gators, and though Severna Park battled admirably, they ultimately fell to Davidsonville, 13-7.

“We played hard, just needed to play a perfect game,” said Head Coach Stacy McCormack of the loss to Davidsonville. McCormack nonetheless believes her girls ended their Green Hornets careers having made huge strides in ability and teamwork as they get set to play at the high school level.

“It was a big year for them. I think they all worked really hard, they all got better as players, and they played beautifully as a team. That’s the key. We didn’t have any individuals, we had a whole team,” said McCormack.

The Junior A Green Hornets received strong play this season from the entire roster of Tina Ricci, Devin Munroe, Annie Echeverria, Abbi O’Neal, Margaret Galdi, Jade Jones, Emma Hamilton, Sarah Elms, Olivia Burchfield, Laura Milleker, Hannah Flynn, Lindsay Flagler, Ivy Sarmiento, Maddie McDaniel, Eva Klaus, Cayley McCormack, Lauren Harrison, Nichola Merkel, Brooke Stein, Mackenzie Hackett, and Carson Gregg.
