Elks Lodge And Services From The Heart Continue Partnership To Feed Families During Holiday Season

Severna Park Elks Lodge 2482 partnered with Services from the Heart Backpack Buddies program for the second year in a row to provide 60 holiday meal bags to program recipient families at Belle Grove Elementary School in Brooklyn Park.

Members of the Elks Lodge purchased and packed 30 Thanksgiving and 30 Christmas holiday meal bags that were delivered just in time for holiday meals. The bags contained all-purpose flour, rice, stovetop stuffing, cake/brownie mix, bread mix, green beans, potatoes, and a gift card to assist families with purchasing additional groceries.

The Elks National Foundation (ENF) Committee wrote and submitted a grant to the National Elks organization this summer and was awarded $4,000 to fund the holiday food project. The purpose of the ENF Committee is to help Elks build stronger communities through programs that support youth, serve veterans, and meet the needs in areas where Elks live and work.
