Members of Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company (EHVFC) are preparing to usher in a new era of the department’s history by breaking ground on a new station as early as fall 2026. To celebrate that milestone, EHVFC is hosting a cocktail fundraiser with the theme “A Toast to Courage, A Night for Heroes” on September 27.
“‘A Toast to Courage, A Night for Heroes’ came to life as a way to not only celebrate the men and women of the fire service but also celebrate the community that stands and supports them,” said Joshua Austin, one of the event co-chairs.
During the fundraiser, attendees can enjoy food, music, dancing, and live and silent auctions. Austin and his co-chairs hope to raise enough money to fund operations once the expected three-year construction of the new station begins.
“Once construction begins, we will lose the ability to host hall rental events, weekly bingos, or our yearly carnival, all of which are the bread and butter toward covering operational costs, from purchasing new equipment to keeping the lights on,” Austin explained.
During the fundraiser, the sponsorship cocktail hour will take place from 4:00pm-5:00pm, and the general ticket cocktail hour will be from 5:00pm-6:00pm. Following those cocktail hours, the next portion of the event will include small plates dining, a main program and an auction from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Finishing the evening in style, the Maryland party band 8-Ball Deluxe will perform in the fire hall. The performance will be open to the public, and admission is free with a donation to the fire company.
