Crain West Rings In The Season With Tree-Lighting

Posted

The Crain West community revived a community tradition this holiday season, holding its tree-lighting ceremony on December 15.

The tree was planted over 30 years ago by the Crain West Garden Club, with money from a Unity Gardens grant. The community also held a dedication for a magnolia tree planted nearby with a 2023 Unity Gardens grant.

This year, the lights were strung by Economy Tree Service, and the work was completed with the help of a bucket truck and a friendly employee named Angel. The Anewalt family lit the tree and had help from community president Jason Crawford, who not only hit the switch but also was responsible for bringing back the tradition.
