Celebrate Flag Day With The Freestate Happy Wanderers

The Freestate Happy Wanderers club is inviting the community to join for a volkswalk at Kinder Farm Park’s River Birch Pavilion on June 13, the day before Flag Day. Kinder Farm Park offers 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer routes. The trails are on natural surfaces, meadows, fields and sidewalks of surrounding residential areas. Start between 9:00am and noon, and finish by 3:00pm.

Kinder Farm Park’s visitors center has displays of items from early farm life in Anne Arundel County. The tobacco barn museum is open, and antique tractors and a working sawmill are in the farm complex area. The 4-H livestock club is responsible for the farm animals you see as you walk the event, and the historic Kinder farmhouse will be open for tours. A $4 walk fee is required, but kids and active military walk for free. Find more information on the event website or email wahasse1798@verizon.net.
