Bruins Beat Defending Champion Bulldogs In Soccer Thriller

The Broadneck boys soccer team kicked off the 2023 season with a 2-1 overtime win over the defending 4A state champion Bowie Bulldogs. Broadneck scored early in the first half on an Ethan Colon header off a corner kick. Bowie tied the game late in the second half to send the game to extra time.

In overtime, freshman Wilson Banwell scored the game-winner. Senior goalie Matt Tettemer made two outstanding saves among his seven for the game.
