Dominant — that’s how coaches and peers view the Broadneck boys swimming team, which just captured a fifth-straight county title during the county championships at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center in Annapolis on February 6. The boys finished with a score of 260, ahead of second-place Annapolis with 204. Nolan Rider scored big wins in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke, Kohl Hanes secured the 500-yard freestyle, and the team added to the total by taking the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.
Broadneck’s girls scored 250 to outpace Severna Park, which had 231. The 200-yard freestyle victory went to Cedar Gallaudet, and her team also won the 200 medley relay.
The Severna Park girls earned their second-place finish behind wins in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays and with a 100-yard butterfly first-place finish by KK Sullivan. On the Severna Park boys side, Riordan Kelley won the 100-yard butterfly.
