Under the leadership of new head coach Pete Buck, the Severna Park baseball team is still looking to find their groove in the early part of the season.
After a 9-2 season-opening loss to Crofton, they won 10-1 over North County, suffered an 8-7 loss to Northeast, enjoyed a 12-2 win over Severn Run, lost 7-6 to Washington and 8-3 to Huntingtown, and rebounded with a 4-0 win over McDonogh.
Dylan Phillips has powered Severna Park’s offense with a .619 batting average, six extra-base hits and 10 RBIs; Evan Boucher has hit two home runs and added eight RBIs; Charlie Delobe has contributed two home runs with five RBIs; and Logan Clarke owns a .353 batting average.
On the mound, Eric Benner has started 2-1 with a 2.23 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings pitched. In two appearances, Reese Davis owns a 1-1 record with 13 strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings pitched. Teddy Uy has a 2.33 ERA in six innings pitched.
After a game at South River April 7, Severna Park will host Glen Burnie on April 13, followed by Chesapeake on April 17.
