Acton Children’s Business Fair Showcases Creativity Of Young Entrepreneurs

The Acton Children’s Business Fair had a strong showing on May 17, with 58 young entrepreneurs, ages 5 to 16, launching their businesses at Gloria Dei! Lutheran Church in Arnold.

Maryland Curiosity Lab awarded six prizes of $50 and certificates for Most Original Business Idea, Highest Business Potential, and Best Presentation in two age groups:

Ages 5–10

  • Best Presentation: Amari Wimberly (8) and Luke Condee (8), Juicy Kids Lemonade

  • Highest Business Potential: Isaiah Prioleau (7), Zay’s Powerful Soap

  • Most Original Business Idea: Max Lester (9), Whopper Dropper

Ages 11–16

  • Best Presentation: Walter Arevalo (12), Walt’s Chocolatier

  • Highest Business Potential: Jolena Marlowe (13), That Macaron Girl

  • Most Original Business Idea: Harper Van Dam (11) and Beckett Van Dam (9), Tiny Botanicals

Judges included Anne Arundel County Councilwoman Amanda Fiedler; Liz League, CEO of the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce; entrepreneur Mary Ostrowski; and Sadia Alao from the Dingman-Lamone Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland.

Sponsors of the event included Mathnasium, Broadneck Pharmacy, Arundel Federal Savings Bank, and LogoZone Promotions, along with support from Maryland Curiosity Lab and Acton Academy Annapolis.

The next fair will be held in the spring of 2026.
