Happy Friday! Things are really starting to get hopping around town. The Easter Bunny is at the community center tonight, and there will be interactive activities with chicks at Homestead Gardens on Saturday. If you’re looking for non-animal related events, there’s plenty going on: author visits, charity events, and a bull and oyster roast. Make sure to tune in to “Shark Tank” on Sunday night to catch some local guys pitching their product! Have a great weekend, Severna Park. We’ll see you on Monday.

Join American Legion Maryland Post 175 for a Paint Night. The featured painting is of poppy flowers, and $10 from each ticket will be donated to this year’s American Legion Auxiliary poppy program. The Easter Bunny is coming to town early! The Severna Park Community Center is hosting its fifth annual Easter Egg Splash on Friday. There will be an Easter egg hunt in the therapy pool, as well as a visit from the Easter Bunny. Severna Park Community Center. 6:30pm-7:30pm. Tickets are $8. More info.

  1. Severna Park Elementary School PTA Variety Show Friday, April 5

Students are getting their annual shining star moment at this year’s PTA Variety Show at Severna Park Elementary. The variety show is made up of 46 acts featuring 150 students. This year, all proceeds from the show will be donated to the Fortney Breast Center at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Severna Park Elementary School. 7:00pm. More info.

  1. Annual Taylor Wild Memorial Pitch, Hit & RunSaturday, April 6

The annual Taylor Wild Memorial Pitch, Hit & Run is Saturday at Kinder Farm Park. SPHS baseball and softball teams will conduct a competition in memory of Taylor Wild, a former SPHS baseball player. Kids ages 7-14 are eligible to compete, and participants have the chance to advance through four levels of competition. Players from all organizations are invited to attend. Maryland author Gary Meyers is visiting Severna Park Library on Saturday for a reading of his book, “The Autobiography of a Pigeon Named Pete.” Meyers will discuss the book, as well as share more stories about Pete. Severna Park Library. 2:00pm. More info.

Ready to shed your winter fur? Brian Boru Irish Restaurant and Pub is hosting its annual St. Baldrick’s Head Shave event, which supports kids suffering or recovering from childhood cancer.   1. Area Alumni On “Shark Tank”Sunday, April 7

Tune in to “Shark Tank” on Sunday night to catch Teddy Giard (SPHS class of 2017) and Austin Maxwell (BHS class of 2013), as well as their Clemson University classmate, pitch their product to the panel. The product, called Kase Mate, works as a cooler minus the ice. If you want to buy it locally, you can pick up Kase Mate at The Cottage in Severna Park. “Shark Tank” airs on ABC on Sunday nights at 10:00pm. Learn more about Kase Mate here.
