Severna Park Softball Advances With 10-0 Win Over Arundel

The Severna Park softball team quickly dispatched its first playoff opponent by defeating Arundel 10-0 in five innings on Monday.

Campbell Kline and Emma Hall had big days offensively to lead the Falcons. Kline belted two doubles and a home run and drove in two runs in a 3 for 4 afternoon, while Hall hit two doubles and a single with an RBI. Jessie Smith, Kylie Dingess, Abby Becker, Madison Gerard and Emily Gabbard all added hits in the win. Gabbard scored twice and batted in two runs, Emily Summers had an RBI and a run scored and Makenzie Rice scored a run as the Falcons were 11 for 25 as a team in support of starting pitcher Marissa Heuer. Heuer struck out five and scattered three hits in earning the victory.

The Falcons are 20-2 overall and host Glen Burnie on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the 4A East Section I final.
