Yoga And Happy Hour Fundraiser To Fight MS Planned For May 9

Posted

Severna Park community members are invited to unwind and help one of their own, Nancy Rashidi, in her battle against multiple sclerosis at a combined yoga session and happy hour planned for Friday, May 9, at the Shipley’s Choice Clubhouse in Millersville. Group yoga will begin at 6:30pm and wine and cheese will be served at 7:30pm. A suggested minimum donation of $15 for one activity or $25 for both – along with raffles and a silent auction - will help Rashidi cover the cost of a trip overseas to seek medical help.

After extensive research to find treatment for the condition slowly paralyzing her, Rashidi discovered hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT), an option unavailable in the United States. The total cost, including flights, visas, pre-admission hotel, hospitalization and aftercare, will be about $60,000. “Unfortunately, insurance will not cover the expense of this progressive treatment and our financial situation is not what it was in the past,” Rashidi explained. “We humbly ask for your help with the cost. We would appreciate any financial assistance you can provide.”

Tickets for the upcoming fundraiser are available at www.my.celebrations.com/nancy. For more information, email n3kids@gmail.com.
