Open Space And Additional Television Screens Make For Ideal Game-Watching With Friends

Autumn is upon us, and football fans are eagerly anticipating an exciting season of intense games. And just in time for the season, Severna Park’s popular local sports bar, Woodfire’s The Back Room, has a welcoming new renovation, making it an ideal place to watch the game with friends.

The Back Room, the adjacent lounge to Woodfire Restaurant, has undergone its first renovation in the restaurant’s thirteen years of business. Changes include the replacement of the carpeted flooring with hardwood, as well as the removal of the center divider between the bar and the tables, which lends a more open atmosphere to the space.

Owner Steve Mainhart explains the changes as being more appealing to the restaurant’s guests. “It was time for a change,” he says. “It’s been the same since we first opened.”

Indeed, the transformation gives a fresh look to the venue, making it a more exciting place for the community to get together.

In addition to the renovation, the restaurant has also added more television screens. Now with eight TVs, the bar will be better primed for Sunday’s football schedule, as patrons can catch multiple games at the same time.

To celebrate, the Back Room will be offering a special NFL package. All day on Sundays, they will be playing football games on the televisions, allowing all fans to come and cheer for their favorites. Appetizers are already half-priced on Sundays, but Mainhart says they will have “enhanced specials for game time,” with great prices and deals on pizza, wings, sliders, and other favorites.

With the lounge floor more open and the chance to catch all your favorite games, the Back Room’s atmosphere promises to be more social and exciting than ever before. Newcomers and loyal guests alike can stop by, kick back with a drink, enjoy some good food, and visit with friends while they watch the game.

The official NFL season begins on Thursday, September 8. For fans of the local Baltimore team, the first Ravens game will be September 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with kick off set for 1:30pm. This game and others can be enjoyed at the Back Room on one of their large-screen televisions.

The Back Room and Woodfire Restaurant is renowned for their kitchen’s use of natural wood-burning ovens, smokers, and 1200 degree wood-burning grill. Their cuisine includes a variety of steak, chicken, seafood, pizza, and salads, as well as ala carte options, small plates, and plenty of appetizers for game-time dining.
