Taylor Wild Memorial Golf Tournament Raises $20,500

Posted

On November 2, the fifth annual Taylor Wild Memorial Golf tournament was held at Compass Pointe Golf Course in Pasadena.

The event honors Taylor Wild, a Marine from Severna Park who was killed in 2013.

A turnout of over 160 golfers made this year’s event one of the best tournaments to date. Event organizers Abby Sprinkel and Griffin Wild, among others, are extremely grateful and humbled by the support from players and donors, who raised $20,500 in total. $20,000 has been given to The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County for the two scholarships awarded in the name of Wild and fallen Marine Eric Herzberg, also of Severna Park. An additional $250 has been donated to both the Heroes of Severna Park Gold Star Memorial and the scholarship for Airman First Class Nathaniel McDavitt.

Plans are underway for next years’ tournament. If you missed the opportunity to play or to be a sponsor and are interested in being a part of the sixth annual Taylor Wild Memorial Golf Tournament, email the organizers at taylorwildgolf@gmail.com.

The Wild family presented a $20,000 check to The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County representatives for the Herzberg/Wild Memorial Scholarship.
