Sports Snapshot April 11: Severna Park Baseball No-Hitter, Broadneck Softball Walk-Off, More

Evan Lewis pitched 6.0 innings of no-hit baseball on April 10 to lead Severna Park in a 3-0 shutout win over North County. Logan Harris came on to pitch the seventh inning and allowed no hits or runs to combine with Lewis for a no-hitter. Tom McGalliard doubled in the second inning and scored on an RBI double by Caleb Robinson to stake Severna Park to a 1-0 lead. Jackson Merrill hit a solo home run in the third inning, a deep shot to right-center field by the left handed-hitting Merrill. Josh Horgan scored Severna Park’s third run, walking, advancing on a hit by Brendan Simonds and coming around to score on an RBI single by McGalliard. Robinson and Camden Handwerger also had singles for Severna Park. The Falcons improved to 9-3 overall.

Severna Park softball improved to 8-1 with a 4-1 win over North County. Campbell Kline homered, doubled, singled and drove in all four Falcon runs in the win. Kylie Dingess pitched a complete game for the victory, allowing six hits and striking out one. Emily Wilson had two hits for Severna Park and scored a run, and Madison Gerard also had a base hit. Emily Gabbard walked and scored a run.

Broadneck’s softball team won 8-7 over Old Mill on a walk-off single by Brooke Magoulick. Magoulick was 2 for 4 on the day including her walk-off hit, and she was the winning pitcher for the Bruins as well. Caitlin Galey was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Bruins. –via @bruinsoftball

Broadneck baseball improved to 7-1 in county play with an 11-2 win over Old Mill. Matt Isaac had 4 RBIs on 3 hits, including a home run, a double and a single, to lead the Bruins. Dillon Smith earned the victory on the mound for the Bruins, allowing only 2 hits and 2 runs in 4.1 innings with 3 strikeouts. Reilly Joyce threw 2.2 innings in relief. Ryan Smolen had an RBI for the Bruins during a five-run fourth inning, and Broadneck piled up 14 team hits. Ben Schultz was 3 for 3 on the day with a triple and two singles. Schultz, Isaac, Smolen and Nicholas Gatton all had multiple hits for the Bruins. –via Broadneck Athletics
