SPHS Student Turns Camp Triple Threat Into A Success

Rising junior Lucy Feldmann brought the sea to Anne Arundel Community College from August 19-23 as she hosted Camp Triple Threat for 16 children from the Arnold community of Glen Oban.

Whether they were dressed as mermaids or wearing nautical-themed outfits, the kids all got coaching on the basics of acting, singing and dance.

Asked about her inspiration for the lessons, Lucy said she credits summer camp with some of her best memories to date.

“Theater camp, specifically, has shaped who I am as a person by introducing me to the stage, the place where I have spent the last eight years of my life,” she said. “It's always been important to me to give back to my community, and to give kids a first brush with theater arts is something that's really special, for both them and me, so this experience has been one that I'll always treasure.”

Lucy’s first camp, which really sparked her interest, was the Theater Experience camp at AACC. She has also done camps with Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts (CCTA), and for the past two years, she has been a counselor at Falcon Drama Camp with Severna Park High School.
