Spalding Field Hockey Advances To IAAM Championship

The Archbishop Spalding varsity field hockey team defeated McDonogh 2-0 on Wednesday night to advance to the IAAM A Conference championship game.

McDonogh came into the game on an 11-game win streak. Spalding came out aggressively in the second half, with Bella Saviano and Katie Fichtner scoring. The Cavaliers then relied on their strong defense to hold McDonogh at bay, with Ruby de Frees adding six saves.

Spalding will play Garrison Forest in the A Conference championship game Saturday at 1:30pm at St. Mary’s High School.
