Severna Park Lanes Continues Tradition Of Bowling Excellence

Whether bowlers go for the competition or just the chance to socialize, they are sure to have a good time at Severna Park Lanes.

“When you leave here, that’s what you leave with,” explained General Manager Curt Puzzano. “You don’t leave with a tangible product, but you leave with a memory. We strive to be excellent.”

Puzzano came to Severna Park Lanes seven years ago, bringing with him a lifetime of experience in the bowling industry, and he found he shared the customer-focused business philosophy that Severna Park Lanes had held for decades.

“From ownership on down, we emphasize the family atmosphere, and we recognize that we’re a community location,” explained Puzzano. “We’re not just a business; we’re a place people where people go for affairs – birthdays, anniversaries, New Year’s Eve parties.”

From the moment guests arrive at Severna Park Lanes, they will find themselves in an upbeat, welcoming atmosphere. The intergenerational group of staff members always greet people with a smile and happily oblige even the smallest of requests. “It’s a nice business to be in,” noted Puzzano, who strives to make the workplace as comfortable for his employees as it is for his customers.

Severna Park Lanes frequently opens its doors to fundraising opportunities, either by hosting an event or by donating gift packages for raffle prizes. School groups, churches and other nonprofit organizations can find that the otherwise laborious task of fundraising suddenly becomes a fun night at the bowling center. “Any way that we can participate, we try to do it,” Puzzano explained, adding that Severna Park Lanes is a member of the Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce as well as a regular participant in the annual Camp Blaze Children’s Fair at Big Vanilla.

Puzzano seeks to engage local youth by creating and maintaining programs, and Severna Park Lanes offers many opportunities for kids to bowl with their peers, with their parents and alongside certified coaches. As the center prepares for its fall leagues season, the team will soon host a customer appreciation Saturday where families can learn about opportunities available, and details about the event will soon be announced.

“For us, it’s always about bringing people in from the community,” Puzzano concluded. “If we do our job, people will have fun and they’ll come back.”

Severna Park Lanes is located at 840 Ritchie Highway and is open Sunday through Thursday 9:00am to midnight, Friday 9:00am to 1:00am and Saturday 9:00am to 2:00am. For more information, visit www.gobowlingsevernapark.com, call 410-647-0811 or like the Severna Park Lanes Facebook page.
