March Is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month


Colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the United States. However, it can be prevented. Are you 50 years or older? Get colorectal cancer screenings beginning at age 50. The Learn To Live program of the Anne Arundel County Department of Health has free information on colorectal cancer.

The department works with the following two providers to offer free screenings to eligible Anne Arundel County residents:

  • Baltimore County Department of Health, 410-887-3456
  • MedStar Health Cancer Network for MedStar Harbor Hospital, 410-350-8216

To qualify for the screenings, county residents must be:

  • 50 years and over, or younger if at high risk for colorectal cancer
  • Uninsured or have limited insurance
