The local music scene is ripe with talented performers who frequent establishments like Café Mezzanotte, Romilo’s, Brian Boru Irish Restaurant and Pub, and O'Loughlins. Many national and regional acts are also passing through Maryland this winter to showcase their tunes for audiences. Here’s a look of some January and February concerts worth noting.

Danny Burns at Rams Head On Stage
33 West Street, Annapolis
January 23 at 8:00pm

Danny Burns cut his teeth as a traveling folk singer by gigging on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, hopping from Ireland to New York City to New Orleans, Chicago and Annapolis, Maryland.

For his record release party on January 23, Burns will return to his one-time home of Annapolis to share an album melding elements of country, bluegrass and Americana. The album “North Country” features an array of voices and instruments — acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, dobro and more — that showcase a diverse sound while staying true to Burns’ Irish roots. It also features an impressive guest list including Tift Merritt, Holly Williams, Mindy Smith, Cara Dillon, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Tim O'Brien, Dan Tyminski and Critter Fuqua.
