Letter To The Editor: In Response To “Students Weigh In On Suicide Resolution”

Posted

From the story, “Upon hearing of this request to provide adequate treatment to those affected by and at risk of death by suicide, the students of Severna Park High School look forward to ‘breaking the stigma around mental health,’ said sophomore Cooper Powell.”

What if students began rejecting “the stigma” around mental health, what if students began rejecting being taught that lesson? What if students began putting their energies into educating the people who taught them that lesson?

And equally to the point, what if we adults stopped teaching it?
