In Focus: New Gallery Features Kim Kelly’s Photography

Posted

Monument Sotheby's International Realty has launched its debut art gallery in Severna Park, featuring the photography of Kim Kelly. The photographer said she searches for beauty in unusual places and subject matter, whether it is a pristine flower captured using a macro lens or an old, dilapidated workboat scuttled in a marsh.

“I am passionate about exploring and capturing images that depict the long history of working the waters of the Chesapeake Bay,” said Kelly, who is the program director for the Digital Photography Club of Annapolis. “I feel that the images I selected for my exhibit are impactful and depict a good spectrum of maritime vessels, some of which are still in use, while others are on exhibit at area maritime museums. I also included some of the beautiful lighthouses that dot the bay.”

Kelly also included two other images to exhibit diversity; one is a tobacco barn at Kinder Farm Park and the other was captured in Scotland, one of 26 countries she has visited. Her work has also been on display in the pages of Chesapeake Bay Magazine and in the 2019 Maryland Department of Natural Resources calendar.

Monument Sotheby's International Realty is located at 537 A Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Severna Park. Visitors can check out the display through September 28 by making an appointment. Call 410-525-5435 for details. To learn more about Kelly, visit www.kimkellyimages.com, or follow her on Instagram @kimkellyimages or Facebook @kimkelly52.
