Today, everything is about going green – recycling has gone from being something kids do to earn a few bucks to something everyone does as a matter of course. And the concept isn’t reserved for cans or bottles anymore.

What do you do with broken jewelry? Simple, you turn to Greg Isaac, the GoldFather. “I’ve been into recycling paper,” Isaac explained. “I worked for a major corporation and ran my own recycling plant after that. This is just getting back into the recycling industry. I’m familiar with it, and the precious metals aspect was intriguing.”

GoldFather started in May 2011 when Isaac opened the business with a friend. “I was born and raised in Pasadena,” he continues. “I think it was an area that needed a place like this. It gets away from pawn shops and other places that buy gold. We’re a precious metal dealer. We accept even broken pieces.”

Isaac explains the company buys gold and silver. They don’t repair and resell the jewelry. “This isn’t about trading in, or trading up,” he says. “We’re here to buy your items and pay you cash for them. And we’ll give you a great price.”

“This is a diverse community,” Isaac continues. “Where we are, we’re close to Pasadena, Severna Park and Glen Burnie – a lot of communities. I know a lot of people here, and I’ve always liked it. I’ve been here for 50 years, and plan to continue being here.”

“Our business will continue to grow,” shared Isaac. “We’re looking to expand into more locations, and we look forward to growing and helping the community as we can. We would like the opportunity if someone is looking to sell, come see us. We think they will be pleasantly surprised.”

When it comes to precious metals, the company will purchase any “real” gold – eight karat or above, including yellow and white gold as well as rose-colored and green gold. They will also buy sterling silver and platinum. They won’t buy filled or plated metals or costume jewelry. They will also purchase coins and any other precious metals. Items are then melted down to obtain the precious metals.

“The GoldFather of Pasadena would like to thank all of our loyal customers! We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with our Anne Arundel County neighbors,” Isaac says on their website.
