Fence & Deck Connection Hosts Holiday Toy Drive

On December 7, Fence & Deck Connection hosted its eighth-annual toy drive at its facility on Veterans Highway in Millersville. They received several hundred book and toy donations totaling around $1500.

The event featured photos with Santa, reindeer pony rides, a petting zoo, a moon bounce, holiday crafts, a train table, hot chocolate, apple cider, cookies and music – all for free. Fence & Deck Connection requested that attendees bring gently used children’s books, new and unwrapped toys, or Target gift cards in any amount.

Each year, the event benefits local nonprofit group Alice’s Kids, which enhances the self-esteem of children in need with small acts of kindness. Fence & Deck Connection is looking forward to creating its own Anne Arundel County Chapter of Alice’s Kids in 2014.
