Earleigh Heights VFC Recognizes Reserve Officers

Posted

The Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company recently recognized local Anne Arundel County Police reserve officers for their assistance during the fire company’s annual carnival. Each year, reserve officers provide important traffic safety assistance at the carnival entrance on Magothy Bridge Road. Reserve officers are volunteers who serve the citizens of Anne Arundel County by supplementing police department public safety work, and receive no compensation for their time and efforts.

The carnival draws thousands of people from our local community who support our work. We offer them a fun and safe event, and could not be successful without the help of Anne Arundel County Police Department reserve officers. The time and efforts reserve officers donate keeping carnival-goers safe, and traffic flowing effectively, is an invaluable contribution to the public and the fire company.

The carnival is the crown jewel of Earleigh Heights’ annual fundraising program. We use funds raised at the carnival to purchase equipment and supplies that support our important fire, medical and public safety missions.

The Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company is grateful for our partnership with the Anne Arundel County Police Department reserve officer program. We continue to be impressed by their dedication, professionalism and selfless service to the community.

We recently recognized the following reserve officers with certificates of appreciation:

Reserve Officer Seth Jason

Reserve Officer Ropeti Solomona

Reserve Officer Asher Chaudry

Reserve Officer Larry Mohr

Reserve Officer J. Gregory Doyle III

Assistant Commander John Barranco

Our carnival is a popular community event and we look forward to continued partnership with the reserve officer program. The Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company 2020 carnival will be held July 1-11. The revenue generated at the 2020 carnival will be used toward the purchase of a new $900,000 heavy rescue truck that will help us respond to car accidents and building fires.
