The Maryland Department of Natural Resources invites marine facility managers to a free seminar in February. Staff will introduce the Maryland Clean Marina Initiative to participants, review commonly needed marina permits and provide resources for all operators and owners to improve their boatyards, docks and marinas.
The event will be held on February 14 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Eastport Yacht Club in Annapolis.
Space is limited so advance registration is recommended.
Free Maryland Clean Marina Guidebooks, staff training and boater education materials will be provided. Managers of all sizes and types of marine facilities are encouraged to attend and participate.
Additional topics include the legal process for removing abandoned boats, establishing mechanics’ liens and a new program for recycling shrink wrap in spring 2019. Finally, the workshop will offer an optional tour of the host facility to highlight best practices at this certified marina. Boatyard and marina operators can seek certification anytime; attending a workshop is not required, but recommended.
