Chris And Marie Mohns Give Vehicles A Golden Touch At Midas

Any car owner knows that regular oil changes and consistent inspections are crucial for keeping an automobile in good condition, but just as important as the service itself is knowing whom to trust to perform that work. Drivers from Severna Park need navigate no farther for honest, dependable work than Midas of Pasadena, conveniently located on Ritchie Highway and recently opened for business.

The store’s owners, husband-and-wife team Chris and Marie Mohns, have years of experience with Midas, having started with the franchise in the early 1980s. Today, they maintain a dedicated focus on providing customer service that sets them apart from other car service shops. “We want to make sure customers are taken care of, that this is a place where they feel comfortable and can trust us,” Marie explained.

The couple noted that they live together and work together equally well. As the owners of Midas stores in Annapolis and Baltimore, they saw the opportunity to take ownership of the Pasadena site and serve the area bridging their two locations. They thoroughly renovated the place, making it a modern facility that would serve as a model for their two other stores. “There’s been a lot of money invested in it because we know it will be a successful shop,” Chris explained.

Additionally, the Mohns brought on Bob Hoffman to run the daily operations as the general manager. Hoffman’s years of experience at the nationwide level of Midas – in which he trained managers, owners and dealers - have equipped him with what Marie described as “tons of Midas know-how.”

Midas offers a complete range of car services, including oil changes, brake repair, tire repair, heating and air conditioning, mufflers and exhaust, lights and wipers, “Check Engine” lights, belts and hoses, steering and suspension, battery charging and replacing, fleet services and more. Customers will also find a personal relationship with the people servicing their automobiles. “Whatever goes wrong in their car, they can come to us,” Chris said. “We want to be the first place they think to come.” He emphasized that Midas provides courtesy inspections with no obligation to buy anything.

The two new residents of Anne Arundel County (the Mohns recently relocated from Howard County to be closer to the community they serve) hope to use their business presence as a way of enriching local life. “We’re a Christian family and we’ve been blessed with successful businesses, and our big thing is to give back what we’ve been blessed with,” Marie explained. “We want to get involved with the rec councils and the little leagues in the area so we can give back to the community that supports us.” She and Chris agree in their hopes to create fundraising opportunities for recreational sports teams and connect with churches to provide car maintenance for single parents in need. “We want the community to know that we’re here and we’re here for them,” Chris illustrated, adding that if customers ever has a problem with products or services, he and Marie will be able to address it personally. “If there is ever a problem, this is the farthest customers have to go.”

Community members are invited to come discover Midas of Pasadena (and connect with Chris and Marie in person) at a customer appreciation day on Saturday, August 9, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Chris and Marie plan to serve hot dogs and hamburgers, and keep the atmosphere exciting with giveaways and other activities.
