Kailey Schissler, a 2023 Chesapeake High School graduate, was awarded a $4,000 legacy scholarship from the Elks National Foundation. The ENF Legacy Awards contest provides educational assistance to children and grandchildren of Elk members who are high school seniors, going on to college, and exhibit the core values of the Elks National Foundation: knowledge, charity, community and integrity.

Who are the Elks? According to the website, "Elks lodges bring so much more to their communities than just a building, golf course or pool. They are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children grow up. Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, meet the needs of today's veterans, and improve the quality of life.”
