Happy New Year! Our best wishes for a safe and successful year!
The Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce has a great year planned with many programs and opportunities for its members. During 2011, we will work on community beautification, continue our Sunday in the Park events, and plan a great July 4th Parade!
If you’re considering joining the Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, we will be holding our first Welcome Breakfast of the year at Ron George Jewelers on Benfield Road on February 3. The event will begin at 7:30am and we’d be happy to extend a personal invitation. Please call us at 410-647-3900!

Other events coming up include a Joint Networking Breakfast with the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber on January 19 at Loews Annapolis Hotel. We will be teaming with the AAACCC and also the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council for the event. It will begin at 7:30am, with a registration fee of $20 in advance for members, $25 at the door, $35 for non-members.
The Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Installation Dinner on January 27 and install officers and directors for the year. The dinner will be held at Chartwell Country Club and the guest speaker will be Mr. Christian S. Johansson, Secretary of Business and Economic Development for the State of Maryland.
Our first Business Bites program of the year will be on February 2 at Brian Boru. The topic is a hot one: “The Power of Social Media for Small Business” and our presenter will be Tim Hamilton, Marketing Director at Homestead Gardens. The Business Bites program offers a bite of information with a bite of lunch, so a choice of entrée is offered.
Registration for all our events can be found online at www.severnaparkchamber.com.
Our first After Hours Business Mixer of the year will be held on February 17 at Moran Group, LLC. This event features one-on-one networking from 5:00-7:00pm at the Moran Group’s newly decorated suite on the 2nd floor of the Moran Building at 696 Ritchie Highway. New this year will be a cash raffle at each mixer, and four drawings for neat prizes such as restaurant cards. Winners will be limited to Chamber members and you must be present to win. Not only will you make some great business contacts, but you’ll have a chance at some nice prizes too.
Each month we celebrate new and growing businesses in our community by holding ribbon cuttings for them. In January we will hold a Ribbon Cutting at Qual-I-Tax in Arnold Station (1450 Ritchie, Suite 111) on January 18 at 11:30am. We will also hold a ribbon cutting on the 25th of January, 12 noon, at Twelve Minute Tag and Title, located at 537 Ritchie, Suite 1A, Severna Park. Our ribbon cuttings are open to the public and we encourage you to come out to welcome these new businesses.
