Celebrate The Holidays With The Severna Park Chamber

The Severna Park Chamber of Commerce takes great pride in supporting local businesses as well as the community in general. They host many events throughout the year, such as the Fourth of July Parade, all with the purpose of drawing the community together and celebrating life and the seasons it presents.
With Christmas just around the corner, everyone is hosting shows, parties, craft and gift sales and other types of get-togethers in celebration of this special time of year. The Chamber, true to form, has come up with some interactive ways to kick off the holiday season in style. It has two large events planned, both in the month of November, and both open to the public.

First, there is the annual Holiday Trade Show. This will take place on Nov. 3 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Earleigh Heights Fire Hall. There is always overwhelming support from the business community, making this a fun-filled night for all who attend. There will be opportunities to do some holiday shopping, abundant food samplings from area restaurants and various performances from 5:30 to 7:30pm, to include some of the elementary school singers, a martial arts demonstration by Jing Ying Institute and a number by Dance Explosion. Children can have their faces painted, and demonstrators will be providing door prizes and giveaways. All of this is free of charge, so come and celebrate.

Then, later in the month, the second annual Taste And Sip will be held once again at Homestead Gardens on Nov. 17 from 6:00 to 9:00pm. This one requires tickets, which are $35 in advance at the Chamber office (410-647-3900) or $45 at the door, and the proceeds will benefit the Severna Park Chamber and Severna Park community beautification. Area vendors provide wine samples, and several local restaurants proffer a more exclusive and substantial menu. Add to that the holiday atmosphere of Homestead Gardens in full Christmas attire, along with entertainment by the Annapolis Chorale and the Christian Chimers Bell Choir, and you have an extraordinary evening.

The holidays can get busy for everyone; all must pick and choose those events that they are not willing to miss. However, both of these events are worth your while. They will bring that warm sense of community, give a chance to sample goodies from your favorite restaurants, and provide a really fun way to get started on the holiday shopping, so come on out and join in the fun!
