Benfield Supports Kindness Through Raise Craze

Posted

Throughout November, Benfield Elementary students participated in a campaign called Raise Craze that is focused on doing acts of kindness and supporters pledging students as they complete these acts. Benfield students raised $11,610 and completed 1,197 kindness acts both in school and in the community.

As a reward for the students, principal Sue Myers, allowed the top fundraisers to pie her in the face.

“Raising money to support our PTO with acts of kindness was a win-win for our school!” Myers wrote in a message to the Voice. “At a time when we are focusing on social-emotional wellness of our students as we reintroduce them back into full-time, in-person learning after being virtual for more than a year, Raise Craze fit perfectly with our school goals.

“Our students really took the initiative to show kindness and engage in these acts at school and in their community,” she continued. “I cannot imagine a more fitting way to raise money for a good cause while teaching children the importance of kindness and giving back to their family, school and community.”
