Amy Basta Named One of Maryland’s 2020 Leading Women

The Daily Record has named Severna Park resident Amy Basta, assistant vice president of marketing for SECU, Maryland’s largest state chartered credit union, as one of Maryland’s 2020 Leading Women.

The Daily Record’s Leading Women awards honor women who are 40 years of age or younger for the accomplishments they have made so far in their careers. A panel of previous Top 100 Women and Leading Women winners selected the honorees based on their professional experience, community involvement and commitment to inspiring change.

Basta brings more than a decade of experience in digital marketing to her role as assistant vice president of marketing. After joining SECU in January 2020, she quickly demonstrated her strategic leadership and deep understanding of the customer journey, utilizing forward-thinking strategies to create unmatched customer experiences and results-driven marketing campaigns.

Most recently, Basta successfully launched SECU Maryland’s 23rd financial center, located in Clarksville, Maryland, during a time when banks were closing branches and canceling events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With an ability to adapt and take on new challenges, Basta spearheaded an integrated marketing campaign and inspired greater community involvement through technology, resulting in more than 300 pounds of food donated to the Community Action Council of Howard County - Food Bank.

Basta has shared her digital marketing expertise with other marketers as a guest speaker at Digiday in Palm Springs, California, and as a presenter at the Communicator Summit in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to giving back to the industry, Basta also invests her time within the community through ongoing volunteer efforts and donations to the SECU Maryland Foundation Society, BARCS and the Baltimore Humane Society.
