AACC Presents “Grey Matter: A Response To Blackness”

Posted

Anne Arundel Community College’s latest art exhibit, “Grey Matter: A Response to Blackness,” comes just in time for Black History Month. On display from February 6 to March 5, the works examine how blackness has been perceived and responded to by America’s dominant society throughout history, including the educational system, law enforcement, and public policies. The artworks explore how these responses have affected those who identify, or are classified as, black.

The exhibit is curated by Thomas James, and it features artists Ernest Shaw, Charles Mason III, Omolara Williams McCallister and McKinley Wallace III.

Artwork will be on display at AACC’s Cade Art Gallery, which will host a reception on February 12 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The gallery is located at 101 College Parkway in Arnold.
