Happy Friday! We hope you had a great week and are gearing up for the weekend, because it’s a busy one. There’s a lot happening around town, including comedy shows, plant sales, rallies and live performances. Get outside and enjoy the fresh air this weekend, Severna Park. We’ll see you on Monday.

  1. Requiem Reborn @ Woods Memorial ChurchFriday, May 17

On Friday night, Woods Church is hosting Requiem Reborn, a free concert featuring the church’s adult choir, a full orchestra, and soloists from Baltimore and Washington, D.C. The group will perform three requiems from Mozart, Faure and Webber. Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church. 7:00pm. More info.

Starting this Saturday, community members can participate in a virtual run to honor the first responders and their selfless acts of courage. The run is open through Friday, May 31. A portion of each registration will be donated to the Gary Sinise Foundation. More info.

The Cape St. Claire Garden Club is hosting a plant sale on Saturday morning. In addition to plants, there will be free compost and mosquito dunks, as well as gardening experts to answer your questions. Cape Clubhouse Field. 8:00am-2:00pm. More info.

Take a trip down the rabbit hole with Severna Park Elementary. The school has two performances of “Alice In Wonderland Jr.” on Saturday, one at 2:00pm and one at 7:00pm. Severna Park Elementary School. Tickets are $8. Times vary. More info.

  1. Burgers & Bands FundraiserSunday, May 19

This Sunday is the third Burgers & Bands fundraiser. The community event features live music and other entertainment. The goal is to raise funds for the organization, which focuses on suicide awareness and prevention. Severna Park Taphouse. 11:00am-8:00pm. Tickets are $10. More info.
