SPMS Receives Grant From Burgers And Bands

Burgers and Bands for Suicide Prevention presented a $1,850 check to Severna Park Middle School on June 7. The grant will fund four school counselors to be trained in dialectical behavioral therapy, which helps people cope with painful emotions and interpersonal effectiveness. As part of the school’s comprehensive counseling program, the new exercises can be used with individual students or as school-wide lessons.
