It’s time to lace up your running shoes. Shipley’s Choice Elementary School is gearing up for its 10th annual Tech Trot.

Every year, the Tech Trot helps the PTA raise money to buy new classroom technology. This year, the funds will go toward Chromebooks and Smart Boards.

The Tech Trot will be held Sunday, May 5. There are two options: a 1-mile run, which is geared toward kids in fifth-grade and younger, and a 5K, which is open to anyone. Both runs kick off at Shipley’s Choice. The mile run goes through the school grounds, and the 5K goes through the neighborhood. Both races finish at the school.

Registration is open through race day. To run the mile, it costs $22. To run the 5K, it costs $27. There is a family discount of $90, which allows participants to register up to seven people. To register, visit www.active.com and search for “Shipley’s.”

After the run, attendees are invited to hang out at the school for food and entertainment. There will be a DJ, as well as live music from students in the Priddy Music Academy.
