Diamondback Lacrosse Club Supports Cancer Research

The Diamondback Lacrosse Club spent this tournament season teaching their players that it is important to be successful not only on the field, but in life. Diamondback LC bought 90 pairs of laces to support the Headstrong Foundation and "Laced Up" their teams. The foundation encourages lacrosse players to use their love of lacrosse to earn money to find a cure for blood cancer, and the boys wear bright green laces in their cleats as a symbol of unity in their cause. The Diamondback lacrosse players asked their parents to pledge money for their personal stats, while the Diamondback organization pledged the teams' stats. The U11A team coached by Craig Hammel finished their tournament season with a 21-1 record, winning the Beach Lax, Summer Exposure, Green Turtle and Bay Bridge Brawl tournaments. The U9A team coached by Steve Morgan finished 7-1-1, winning both the Lax Max and Father's Day Invitational. In addition to the successful record and tournament titles, the boys of Diamondback Lacrosse Club were most proud of raising over $4500 for the Headstrong Foundation to help fund research for a cure for blood cancer. Congratulations to a highly successful tournament season both on and off the field to the members of Diamondback Lacrosse Club.
