Spalding Wrestler Selected To Pan-American Team
Archbishop Spaldings Logan Breitenbach has been selected by USA Wrestling to compete in the 2012 Pan-American Games on July 13 in Venezuela. A rising junior on the Cavaliers wrestling team and three-time selection to the Maryland National Team, Breitenbachs selection to the team comes on the heels of his winning the Southeast Regional Championships in Atlanta earlier this summer. In that competition, Breitenbach topped a field of 31 wrestlers from 14 states in his weight class.
Between July 1 and July 10, Breitenbach will train for the Pan-Am Games at the Olympic Training Facility in Colorado Springs. The day after he competes in Greco-Roman style wrestling at the Pan-Am games, Breitenbach will travel directly to Fargo, North Dakota, to compete in the Junior National Championships in both freestyle and Greco-Roman style wrestling. At the Junior National Championships Breitenbach will represent the Maryland National Team for the third consecutive year.
I am honored, said Breitenbach of his selection to compete in the Pan-Am Games, and look forward to representing the USA in Venezuela and look to bring home the gold medal.
